Federal Ombudsperson Meets Standard Chartered Bank Leadership on Workplace Harassment Prevention

Workplace harassment and gender-based discrimination remain among the main barriers to women’s participation and progress at work. Employees are more willing to speak up where policies are clear, leadership is visible and accountability is consistent, which makes dialogue between regulators and employers valuable.
The Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar, held a meeting with the CEO, Chief Liaison Officer, and Head of Human Resources of Standard Chartered Bank to discuss the bank’s policies and practices concerning workplace harassment prevention, gender diversity, and the promotion of a safe, inclusive, and equitable work environment.
The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening institutional policies, fostering a culture of respect and accountability, and ensuring equal opportunities for all employees. Such engagements reflect the shared commitment to promoting professional integrity, safeguarding workplace dignity, and advancing gender equality across the corporate sector.
