16 April 2026 | Asian Ombudsman Association’s 30th Anniversary Commemoration

The Asian Ombudsman Association commemorated its 30th anniversary through a virtual meeting held on 16 April 2026, bringing together member institutions from across the region to mark three decades of advancing transparency, accountability and good governance.The session was inaugurated by Naveed Kamran Baloch, President of AOA, who highenduring lighted the Association’s significant contributions over the past 30 years.Wafaqi Mohtasib (FOSPAH) was represented by Communications Officer, Ms. Yumna Jamil, who participated in the session on behalf of the institution. The meeting served as a significant platform for member organisations to reflect on AOA’s achievements and reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening ombudsman systems and safeguarding citizens rights.During the session, the contributions of AOA in promoting access to justice and fostering regional cooperation were highlighted. The engagement also provided an opportunity to underscore FOSPAH’s distinct mandate, including addressing workplace harassment against women, men and transgender persons, as well as advancing women’s property rights, economic security and constitutional protections.The event featured participation from distinguished representatives of member states across the region, including Türkiye, China, Thailand, Japan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, among others, contributing to a constructive exchange of perspectives on enhancing citizen centric governance.FOSPAH’s participation reflects its continued commitment to promoting swift justice, protecting fundamental rights, and strengthening regional collaboration within the ombudsman community
