A dialogue on the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010, in collaboration with NWJF and WISE
In collaboration with the National Women Journalists Forum and Women In Struggle for Empowerment - WISE, a dialogue on the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010, brought together journalists, media professionals, and activists to push for safer, harassment-free workspaces. Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar underscored the strength of the law and highlighted that harassment-free workplaces are essential to increasing women’s participation in the labour force. Provincial Ombudsperson Ms. Nabila Hakim called for stricter institutional compliance, reminding all workplaces that enforcing this law is not optional. Ms. Farzana Chaudhry, President of the National Women’s Journalism Forum, highlighted the vulnerabilities women face in media and public-facing roles, urging stronger protection mechanisms within newsrooms. Together, these voices are moving the needle toward workplaces that are safe, accountable, and respectful.
Ms. Bushra Khaliq, Executive Director of WISE, emphasized the need to take this conversation to the grassroots so that every worker—formal or informal—knows their rights.
