Can we achieve sustainable development without gender equality?

Can we achieve sustainable development without gender equality?
No. Women’s rights are directly linked to economic growth, poverty reduction, and stronger societies. Yet, millions of women and girls still face barriers that hold them back.

On March 8, 2025, the 23rd National Women’s Rights Conference brought together policymakers, activists, and experts to discuss how empowering women is key to a just and sustainable future.

What we learned:

  • Gender equality isn’t optional
  • SDG 5 (Gender Equality) is the backbone of all 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
  • When we invest in women, we invest in stronger economies, better education, and healthier communities.

This conference was organized by International Human Rights Observer as a powerful step toward action. But the fight for equality doesn’t end here—it continues with YOU.
